Raise your own meat in the space, and the schedule, that you have!

Most families who want to grow their own meat get stuck before they even start. Too many conflicting voices online. No clear system to follow. And the worry that they'll set it up wrong, spend money they can’t get back, and end up with nothing in the freezer.
Rabbits are the answer most folks overlook.
Rabbits don't need pasture or a barn. And they don't need much equipment, space, or even experience. A backyard, a garage bay, or even a patio is enough for your family to get started. And once your system is running, daily care takes under 30 minutes. Your kids can handle most of it. Daniel started at seven years old.
In this class, you'll learn how to choose the right breeds, build housing that lasts, feed rabbits correctly through every stage of their lifecycle, and set up a breeding calendar so nothing slips through. You'll learn to read your does, keep simple records, and handle harvest as a family, without making it harder than it has to be.
You'll also learn the closed-line breeding approach Daniel has refined over 35 years. Buy a breeding trio once, and you never have to buy rabbits again.
By the time you're done, you'll have a complete system that can feed your family year-round, produce manure for your garden, and even have the knowledge to scale it into a real business.

Meet Your Instructor:
Daniel Salatin
Hi, I'm Daniel Salatin from Polyface Farm.
I started raising rabbits when I was seven years old. In fact, rabbits were my gateway animal. How I learned farming, butchering, record keeping, business, and problem solving from the ground up.
At the peak of my operation, I sold over 1,000 rabbits in a single year, enough to pay for my own home. I've raised them in every configuration imaginable: backyard cages, pastured pens, garage bays, hoop houses. I've sold meat, breeding stock, pet rabbits, rabbit skins, and yes, even the proverbial rabbit foot.
Over 35 years, I developed a closed-line breeding program designed to produce rabbits that thrive on minimal input, fertile, productive, and capable of eating greens and pasture, without requiring constant outside stock. I've taught these methods to ag agents, college professors, homesteading conference audiences, and the on-farm stewards I train at Polyface.
I've given talks ranging from four hours to a full season's worth of hands-on instruction. This class is everything I've learned, tested, and refined.
By the end of this class, you’ll have the confidence and skills to:

Set up rabbit housing that fits your space.
Whether you're working with a backyard, a garage bay, or a patio, you'll know exactly how to configure it, with cages built to last 20+ years.

Feed and care for rabbits at every stage of their lifecycle.
From kits to does to bucks, you'll know what goes in the feeder, when, and why. And daily chores will be under 30 minutes once your system is running.

Run a breeding program without guessing.
A calendar-based schedule takes the uncertainty out of when to breed, when to rebreed, and what to expect from your does at every stage.

Hand it off to your kids.
From daily feeding to record keeping to harvest, you'll have a system young people can own completely, building real skills alongside real responsibility.

Walk through harvest as a family.
Start to finish, with minimal equipment and a process that gets easier every time, handled practically, without making it harder than it has to be.

Keep simple records you can use.
You'll track what matters, skip what doesn't, and let the records do the thinking so nothing slips through the cracks as your herd grows.
