Buying expensive plant starts for your garden? There’s a better way…
In this class, you’re going to learn everything you need to know about starting seeds indoors, then transplanting the seedlings into your garden.
This is the key to giving your garden the best possible start, and it brings a whole host of advantages over other options.
For one, it’s MUCH more affordable than buying starts from a greenhouse, nursery or big-box store. (The average price for starts is around $6 – so planting even a small garden can cost several hundred dollars if you go that route). Anything that saves you that kind of money, while lessening your dependence on outside inputs, is a win in my book.
Plus, you have WAY more options for what you want to grow. For example, most garden centers only stock a few varieties of tomatoes. But when you start with seeds, you have hundreds of delicious tomato varieties to choose from. And don’t forget all the plants you might want to grow that aren’t sold in nurseries at all… Starting with seeds lets YOU choose.
Not to mention, starting seeds indoors can be really fun (it’s like having a tiny garden in your house!) so it’s a great way to get kids or grandkids excited about growing their own food!
But starting seeds is not without challenges. Because you’re taking the seeds out of their natural environment. And that means you have to provide exactly the right conditions for each stage of the seedling’s life, and prepare it for the transition to the outdoor garden.
And if you’ve ever done it before, you know it can be VERY hit-or-miss.
That’s where this class comes in.
Because Rick Stone has spent years honing a seed starting method that’s not only simple, easy-to-follow, and doesn’t require a lot of fancy equipment…
It just plain works! Rick has taken all the guesswork out of the seed starting process, and boiled it down to a simple, step-by-step formula anyone can follow. So it’s great for newbies and experienced gardeners alike.
Rest assured, you can do this! Rick Stone will show you how.
This year, you can start your whole garden from seed, for pennies on the dollar!
There’s nothing better than a perfectly ripe tomato eaten straight out of the garden in the middle of summer…
Or a fresh-picked spinach salad cut from your cold frame in the fall.
Growing your own organic produce yields results like nothing else. The fruits and vegetables are as fresh as they can be, they taste better than their store-bought counterparts, and you know exactly what did (and didn’t) go into the growing process.
What makes growing your own food even better is that those tasty, healthy veggies are grown so much cheaper than conventional produce.
Your abundant food garden requires a lot of healthy plants. Even a small vegetable garden can require several hundred fruit and flower starts over the course of a season.
Buying these starts from a local nursery can get very pricey. You can easily spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to buy seedlings for your garden.
But when you grow your own seedlings, your costs are a tiny fraction of buying commercially-grown starts.
In this class, you’ll learn everything you need to know about how to grow your own fruit, vegetable and flower seedlings, including…
The exact timing for when to plant your seeds based on your zone and frost dates…
How to create a small, functional space for indoor seed starting, without spending a bunch of money on equipment you don’t really need…
What containers, soil, and lighting work best…
How to care for your growing seedlings and make sure they grow into strong and healthy young plants…
And exactly how and when to move them outside…
By the time you finish this class, you’ll have the confidence to start your entire garden from seeds, for pennies on the dollar, while growing exactly what you want to grow.

Your Skill Instructor: Rick Stone
Rick Stone grew up around gardens and farms and loved growing his own food, but it wasn't until he had children that he realized how broken the food system is. He and his wife committed to feeding their kids the healthiest, most nutrient-dense food they could, which meant growing it themselves. That was over 25 years ago, and every year his garden has gotten bigger, and he provides most of the fresh produce for his family.
For the past 20 years, Rick has started his own seeds indoors, both for the cost savings and the ability to grow the exact varieties he wants, and more varieties than he could find in a nursery. Over time he has perfected his method by removing as many variables as possible.
Rick teaches his seed-starting and gardening techniques through his classes and academy at Stoney Acres Gardening and on YouTube. His step-by-step processes attract beginning and experienced gardeners, and his emphasis on simple, economical systems makes gardening possible on any budget.
